Treatment of Common Eye Conditions/Diseases for the Surrounding Areas of Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Madisonville
One of the most common services our ophthalmologists provide here in our Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Madisonville offices is treatment for common eye conditions and diseases. One very common eye disease we diagnose in our office is that of glaucoma, a disease that occurs when excessive pressure builds up within the eye and presses against the ocular nerve. In our Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Madisonville offices, we're able to perform a number of treatments for glaucoma, including both non-invasive and even surgical treatments.
Another common disease we treat in our office that affects the eyes is that of cataracts; this condition is most common in adults over 60, but it can occur to people of any age. Essentially, cataracts are opaque or cloudy spots in the eye's lens that lead to deterioration of vision over time. In Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Madisonville offices, our ophthalmologists have access to a variety of treatment options for cataracts, including the innovative Dropless cataract surgery, which involves the placement of a medicine known as Tri-Moxi into the eye during the procedure. This low-risk surgery helps to reduce inflammation and often eliminates the need for cataract-treatment eye drops for patients with severe cataracts.
In Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Madisonville offices, we also provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of other conditions like macular degeneration, eye trauma, blocked tear ducts, and other retinal diseases. Vitreoretinal diseases are also diagnosed and treated in our office, typically through the use of procedures such as vitrectomy, retinal detachment surgery, and laser therapy. No matter what your eye condition may be, you can rest assured that we have the tools, resources, and know-how available to provide you with the best care.
LASIK Consultations and Refractive Surgery from Our Ophthalmologists
In addition to treatment of common ocular diseases and conditions, our ophthalmologists also offer LASIK consultations and specialized refractive surgery here at Calvert Ophthalmology Center. Specifically, we're proud to offer the innovative, FDA-approved CustomVue procedure. This involves the use of Wavefront technology to capture distortions in the vision and then create a unique "fingerprint" treatment to correct refractive errors. This treatment is known to be more than 25 times more precise than standard LASIK procedures and is ideal for those who need customized vision correction.
In addition to CustomVue surgery, we also offer refractive lens exchange as a means of refractive surgery. This procedure is similar to cataract surgery in how it is performed, but is ideal for those who are not viable candidates for traditional LASIK surgery. Not sure which refractive surgery or vision correction procedure is right for you? We offer LASIK consultations and evaluations right here in any of our Hopkinsville, Clarksville, and Madisonville offices.
Cosmetic and Reconstructive Procedures from Our Ophthalmologists
Finally, we also offer cosmetic and even reconstructive procedures in our office. This includes reconstructive eyelid surgery among those who have heavier or sagging eyelids. This procedure is often not just for an improved cosmetic appearance, but to help improve eyesight as well. This is because those who suffer from sagging or drooping eyelids often have obstructed vision as a result. Our experienced team of ophthalmologists has the tools and resources needed to perform the cosmetic or reconstructive eye procedure you need. Other cosmetic surgery options we can perform include surgeries on the lacrimal system, facial bones, and eye orbits.
